  3. England except those specifically assigned to
  4. other departments. Responsibilities include
  5. the police, the prison service, immigration,
  6. race relations, and broadcasting. The home
  7. secretary, the head of the department, holds
  8. cabinet rank. There is a separate secretary
  9. of state for Scotland and another for Wales.
  10. The home secretary has certain duties in
  11. respect of the Channel Islands and the Isle
  12. of Man.
